It is with great simcha that we plan to open the batei medrash for Leil Shavuos learning. We are striving to maintain a delicate balance between getting “back to normal” and caution; so while we’re very excited about opening for learning, it is only possible to do so with some guidelines in place. We also recognize that it is important that people coming to learn should be able to feel confident about their safety, we therefore welcome further input.
The following guidelines are based on the advice of our rabbanim and medical advisers. For those who prefer to learn at home, we have prepared several learn-at-home options.
1) Masks must be worn at all feasible times. If the mask must be removed (such as to eat) please ensure that proper social distancing is in place.
2) Learning will be spread out through the Kollel and shul buildings with each room having a dedicated shiur or use. We need to maintain 25% occupancy per room. Whether you plan on learning with a chavrusa, yourself or attending a shiur, it is essential that you register beforehand to ensure that we'll have room for everyone.
3) We regret that at this time we aren’t prepared to host boys under 9th grade onsite.
4) Non-socially distanced chavrusas will only be allowed with immediate family members. The main shul will be used for socially distanced chavrusahs with each chavrusa sitting at opposite ends of rows.
5) Programming is scheduled until 1:45am and there will be prepackaged refreshments in the coffee room until that time. For those wishing to learn the remainder of the night we encourage them to learn at home. Due to the length of the night, it is important to remember to connect through learning and try to save the much-needed socializing for a different time.
